Relationship of Socioeconomic Status, Psychiatric Diagnosis and Sex to Outcome of Alcoholism Treatment

SUMMARY. At 2½ to 5 years after treatment at a psychiatric hospital, 68 of the 100 patients followed up were considered improved: 60% were of upper socioeconomic status, 64% were men, and 72% had received diagnoses of psychoneuroses or personality disorders.
