Reevaluation of the Disulfiram–Alcohol Reaction in Man

SUMMARY. The intensity of the disulfiram-alcohol reaction is found to depend on the blood acetaldehyde level, a disulfiram-induced predisposition reflected by alkalosis, and an individual predisposition reflected by dopamine-β-hydroxylase activity.
