Recognizing and Seeking Help for Drinking Problems; A Study in the Boston Metropolitan Area

SUMMARY. A survey of 5320 adults in a Boston area probability sample revealed that only 15% of respondents reporting a drinking problem at the time of interview were involved in organized or professional help for their problem; an additional 28% reporting current problems had sought help in the past.
