Reactance Effects of Denying Social Drinkers the Freedom to Choose to Drink Alcoholic Beverages

SUMMARY. When male social drinkers who sampled small amounts of wines and fruit drinks at one session were denied the freedom to drink wine “extensively” at the second session, their ratings of the attractiveness of both wines and fruit drinks were higher at the second than at the first session.
