Prognostic Significance and Reversibility of Cerebral Dysfunction in Alcoholics

SUMMARY. A follow-up study of 53 men alcoholics revealed that alcoholics with a poor prognosis were more psychometrically impaired than alcoholics with a good prognosis. Improvement in drinking behavior was related to better spatial problem solving, but not to ratings of rigidity and adaptability.
