Parent and Offspring Alcohol Use; Imitative and Aversive Transmission

SUMMARY. Offspring tend to imitate their perception of their parents’ drinking, particularly the same-sex parent. When parental drinking behavior was perceived as extreme, either abstaining or heavy, the imitation dropped off.
