Measuring the Severity of Symptoms in Outpatient Alcoholics

SUMMARY. Test results of 108 outpatient alcoholics showed that the distribution of scores on the 20 items of the self-administered Missouri Alcoholism Severity Scale were almost identical for men and women and that these scores averaged about one-third less than those reported for inpatients.
