Impaired Perceptual—Cognitive Functioning in Women Alcoholics; Cross-Validated Findings

SUMMARY. In a cross-validated factor-analytic study, women alcoholics demonstrated a performance pattern highly similar to that found in men alcoholics-impaired perceptual-spatial and problem-solving abilities but intact general verbal intelligence. Alcoholism did not affect the pattern of relationships among the underlying cognitive abilities.
