Effects of Ethanol on Brain Sialic Acid and 2-Deoxyribose in Young Rats

SUMMARY. Young rats, on a nutrient-fortified liquid diet containing 7% ethanol, showed decreases in brain sialic acid and 2-deoxyribose within 2 weeks; action on both compounds was delayed in forebrain, but decreases were apparent there after 6 weeks.
