Disinhibition of Rat Cerebellar Purkinje Neurons from Noradrenergic Inhibition during Rising Blood Ethanol

Stephen Sorensen, Douglas Carter, Jwaharlal Marwaha, Rodney Baker, Robert Freedman

SUMMARY. The spontaneous-discharge rate of rat cerebellar Purkinje neurons increased transiently with rising blood ethanol but was depressed at steady-state or declining levels. In rats pretreated with 6-hydroxydopamine or propranolol, the transient increase did not occur.
