Comparison of Alcoholism Prevalence Rates Obtained by Survey and Indirect Estimators

SUMMARY. Prevalence rates obtained by the Ledermann consumption model and the Jellinek estimation formula are similar to the rate of “heavy-escape drinking” obtained by a survey using a quantity-frequency index and questions about “escape drinking.”
