Alcohol and Suicide and Homicide

SUMMARY. In the U.S.A. rates of suicide, but not homicide, were positively correlated with alcohol consumption in the states, and rates of homicide, but not suicide, were positively correlated with alcohol consumption over time (1940-73). In 24 other countries rates of suicide and homicide were not related to alcohol consumption.
