Alcohol Consumption and Cognitive Functioning in Social Drinkers

SUMMARY. Performance by social drinkers on tests of abstracting and adaptive abilities was negatively associated with the amount of alcohol consumed per drinking occasion. The pattern was strongest in heavy drinkers but was also evident in light and moderate drinkers.
