Albumin, Prealbumin, Transferrin and Serum Proteinase Inhibitors in Asymptomatic and Hospitalized Thai Alcohol Drinkers

SUMMARY. Findings on Quetelet’s index and on levels of serum albumin, prealbumin and transferrin as well as the serum proteinase inhibitors (PI)α 2 -macroglobulin, α 1 -protease inhibitor and α 1 -antichymotrypsin support the hypothesis that PI levels reflect the nutritional status of alcohol drinkers.
