Acculturation and Drinking in an Italian American Community

SUMMARY. The hypothesis that drinking practices among Italian Americans become more Americanized with successive generations was tested. In general, it was found that aspects of drinking behavior from both Italy and America were selected to form a third distinct drinking pattern.
