Abstinent Alcoholics’ Adjustment to Work

Marguerite F. Levy, Walter Reichman, Stephen Herrington

SUMMARY. Abstinent alcoholics were more satisfied with their jobs, were closer to career goals and earned higher salaries 6.5 years after treatment than at 3.5 years after treatment. At 6.5 years, alcoholics perceived that they had more power on the job than they had had at 3.5 years, but less power than nonalcoholics had perceived that they had at 3.5 years.
